Course description

How does history shape our view of people to this day? How do prejudices continue to work in everyday life, in the media and in social structures – often unnoticed?

In the workshop we deal with different forms of racism and their historical backgrounds. Together we talk about colonial history, social contexts and why these issues affect us all.

We offer space for exchange, questions and new perspectives, regardless of whether you have been working on the topic for a long time or just want to get started.

Speaker:

Nkrumah Mbougen founded the Afrocracy project and has been campaigning against racism for years.
In workshops and seminars, especially at schools, he imparts knowledge about racism, German colonial history as well as African history and cultures.

In addition, he works with educational institutions, raises awareness among young people via social media and writes positively for the magazine Afrika.
